I graduated with a Master of Theology degree, majoring in Comparative Religion. I work at the unit as a Research Coordinator.
My special interests involve religious communities in Finland, and in particular, new religious movements, New Age movements, Western esoteric tradition and Neopaganism. Phenomena related to the changes of religiousity are a central part of my work.
My tasks are primarily in the field of comparative religion, but I’m also actively following the religious dialogue in Finland.
Currently, my work involves tasks related to the database project Religions in FinlandThe link opens in a new tab (in Finnish: Uskonnot Suomessa), which started in 2006, as well as lecturing and education. I also respond to various inquiries from the media and other parties as they concern my own specialties. Contributing to the common duties within the Church Institute for Research and Advanced Training is part of my work.
Questions in the fields of the Study of Religion and Theology interest me in my leisure time as well. My hobbies include association activities, the history and culture of native Americans, icon painting and music.
