Church statistics offer insights into the role the Church plays in Finnish society.
In 2021, membership of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland included approximately 3,7 million Finns, or 66,5 % of the population.In 2019, 26, 720 infants became Church members through baptism. 20 422 person joined the Church.The Church comprises 367 parishes (as of 1 January 2022), which employ approximately 15, 800 people in total.In 2021, the Church had 2,000 pastors. In addition to their traditional role in parishes, pastors can also serve as hospital chaplains or family counsellors.
