The Church Pension Fund safeguards pensions
The Church Pension Fund was established to ensure the payment of Church workers’ pensions.
The Church Pension Fund is an investment organisation funded by employee pension contributions and investment income. In late 2016, its investments totalled 1,424 million euros.
As a responsible investor, the Church takes into account environmental matters, social responsibility and good governance in its investments.
The Church Pension Fund is committed to responsible investment and has outlined guidelines for responsible investment in 2014. It has also been committed to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) since 2008.
The Church Pension Fund adopted a climate change strategy in December 2016. According to the strategy, the fund aims to consistently reduce the carbon footprint of its investments. To achieve this objective, it uses various tools to manage its carbon footprint and curb climate change.
