Request an investigation online

Couples planning to marry can now request the investigation of impediments to marriage online. This online service is available 24 hours a day seven days a week and makes use of information from the Finnish Population Information System. If you access the service with your online banking codes, most of your information will thus be filled in for you.

To request the investigation online, you must be 18 years of age and have your permanent residence in Finland. Both of you must also have online banking codes or a mobile certificate. At least one of you must also be a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.

If you wish, you can also request an investigation of impediments to marriage at your local parish office or send such a request by post.
